Rad E. Walters

Mr. Rad E. Walters, 85, retired line foreman for the Natchez Trace Electric Power Assn., died Saturday, August 8, 2009, at the VA Hospital in Jackson, MS.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. today at the Eupora First United Methodist Church with burial in the Eupora City Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Laverne G. Walters of Eupora; two sons, Keith Walters of Natchez and Bruce Walters of Eupora; one sister, Maynelle Nagoski of Memphis, TN; three brothers, Charles Walters of Conway AR, James R. Walters of Alexander, AR and Leon Walters of Fulton, MS; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Walters worked for the NTEPA for 41 years, and was instrumental in the establishment and operation of the Green Thumb Nursery and Landscaping for 28 years. He was a Eupora Alderman for 8 years and an Army Veteran of WWII and Korea.

The family requests memorials be made to the St. Jude Hospital or a charity of your choice.

Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is in charge of all arrangements.
