He was then transferred to the Company D, Maine 1st Heavy Artillery Regiment on 19 Dec 1862. He was promoted to Full Captain on 15 June 1863, mustered out on 15 June 1863. AFTER the War, Frank returned to Tallahassee, where he was the State Land Surveyor (his family were surveyors in ME).

He had a joint Freedman's bank account with several 3rd USCT men. He moved to Oshkosh WI where he was a US Marshall, then in the 1890's to Leavenworth KS where he was a US Treasury Revenue Agent. Then on to Chattanooga TN where he was US Postmaster around 1900.

His daughter married Judge James Lynch.

Frank then moved to Idaho before 1910, where he and his wife, Juliet. lived out their lives.

His daughter left (or was told to leave) Judge Lynch with 3 kids, and moved to Idaho as well. She remarried a Mr Earl Parks. Frank had 4 brothers who also served in the Civil War.
