Obituary - Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Pearlina Eliza Irwin Alley, of Laketown, Utah, died September 6, 1990 in a local nursing home.
Born April 12, 1890 in Laketown, Utah, to Joseph and Eliza Vaterlaus Irwin. Married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, June 19, 1912, to Charles Henry Alley: he preceded her in death September 24, 1953.
Very active member of the LDS Church, she had a strong testimony of her faith and served the Lord in many capacities, including writing family histories, genealogy and a mission in the Bear Lake Stake. She loved music and used her talent in teaching many of the youth in Laketown, Utah, to sing in quartets, etc. At age 100, she was the oldest person to have lived in Laketown, Utah.
Survivors include three sons, Russell I, Charles L., both Salt Lake City; Gerald I., Logan; 22 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; sister, Viola Martin, Salt Lake City; and brother, Sidney Irwin, Ogden. Preceded in death by eight brothers and seven sisters, John, Ernest, Heber, Franklin, Lucy, Rosella, Brigham, Ruby, Olive, Ralph, Grace, Grant, Joseph, susan and Annie.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 11th, 11 a.m., in the Laketown Ward Chapel, Laketown, Utah, with Bishop Stewart Wamsley officiating. Friend may call Monday evening from 7-8 at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 So. 2300 East, (Salt Lake), and at the church (Laketown), Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 20 minutes prior to the services. Interment: Laketown Cemetery. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
