Son of Lydia Young & David Crockett.

Arrival to UT: 19 Oct 1849, Willard Richards Co.
Spouse: Mary Sophia Reed
Marriage Date: 20 Jun 1852
Marriage Place: Payson, Utah
Married 2nd: Annie Naomi Peel

Alvin 's parents accepted the gospel when Wilford Woodruff first introduced it in Fox Islands on his first mission. Alvin was baptized when he was eight. In 1841 the entire family traveled to Nauvoo. When the saints left Nauvoo, the Crocketts settled in Davis County, Iowa until 1849 when they left for the valley. President Young sent them to settle Payson.

Alvin went with friends to California to find gold, but found very little. He returned to Payson where he met and married the school teacher, Mary Sophia Reed. In the summer he did mason work and built adobe houses. In the winter he mended shoes and did copper work on tubs, buckets, kegs, barrels, and churns to sell. He was in the military and a friend to the Indians.

In 1860 he moved his family to Logan where he became mayor. He was the first county sheriff and chief of police. He served in many other positions in the community. He was in the high council until his death.

He took a second wife and in 1888 was arrested for having two wives. He helped haul rocks for the Logan Temple, built roads and did anything else needed.

He was a loving father and husband, went on two missions for the church, was known for his honesty, and was well respected wherever he went.
