NAPA - Charles Fairfield Bryden of Napa passed away peacefully on July 8, 2009. He was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Vernon Center, N.Y., to Leslie and Bessie Bryden. He moved to Napa in 1945, after having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He moved to Sonoma following his retirement from the Royce Hall Construction Co. and returned to Napa to reside nine years ago.
He is survived by his children, John Bryden (Mary) of Napa and Nancy Kraus (Joe) of Roseville; sisters Betty Gossoo of British Columbia and Gertrude Amodio of Florida; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Fern Bryden; his eldest son, James Bryden; his parents; and a sister, Lois Doherty.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 31, at 11 a.m., at Tulocay Cemetery.
Chuck loved his family dearly. Rest in peace, Dad.
