ASKEW, THURMAN "BABE" in Chowchilla, July 27,1987. Age 75. Born in Kenific, Okla. He came to Chowchilla in 1936. Retired Farmer, farming in Alamo district until 1973. Member of the Ashview Baptist Church for 22 yrs., when the church closed he moved his membership to Freewill Baptist Church, Chowchilla. Father of Jerry and Mert (Burke) Askew both of Chowchilla and Jimmy Askew of Fresno. A daughter Salley Calley of Madera, 2 brothers Norman Askew of Chowchilla and James Askew of El Sobrante. 5 sisters Jewel Moon of Chowchilla, Lillian Gronaas of North Dakota, June Leonard of Pinole, Dee Windsor of Suisan City, Betty Jo Willets of Stockton, Frances Campbell of New Mexico. 11 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Service Thursday, July 30,1987 at 9:am in the WORDEN FUNERAL CHAPEL, Chowchilla. Interment Chowchilla District Cemetery.
