Obituary - Joseph O. Wotring. Preston Republican. Terra Alta, WV. Thur., Jan. 2, 1936. Pg. 4
Joseph O. Wotring, 76 years of age, well known farmer and business man, was found dead in his country home, one mile south of Aurora, on Sunday, Dec. 22. He had never married and lived alone.
Mr. Wotring who was commonly known as "Uncle Joe," was born March 5, 1859, and died Dec. 22, 1935. He was the last member of the Samuel and Katheryn Menear Wotring family, all the other children having preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held in the home on Thursday at 2 p.m. with burial in the Wotring Cemetery at Carmel.
Mr. Wotring was known to many Terra Alta people, being a director of the Terra Alta First National Bank.
