Helen I. Day, April 9, 1910-Feb. 9, 1997, Helen I. DAY, 86, Akron, died at 9:20 p.m. Sunday at Life Care Center, Rochester. Born in Fulton County to Tona and Flo HUDKINS MILLER, she married Joseph W. DAY on May 24, 1928 in South Bend. He survives. She worked at Victory Ordinance during W.W. II, and worked at Akron School as a custodian. She was a member of Akron Women's Club, Akron United Methodist church, and taught Sunday School for 50 years. Also surviving are one son Richard E. DAY, Akron,. one granddaughter Mrs. James (Pamela) VANDERMARK, Akron, one grandson Joseph W. and wife Marianne DAY, Akron,. five great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandsons; one great-great-grandson, one sister Eva SMITH, Rochester, one brother Kenneth MILLER, Letters Ford. She was preceded in death by one brother Doc Henry MILLER. Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with Rev. Douglas WITT officiating. Burial is in Akron Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Akron United Methodist Church.
