The Rev Harvey Quandt of Audubon officiated. Connie Neese was soloist, with Wilmuth Peters as organist.
Casket bearers were Dean, James, Daryl Dean, Paul and Dennis Thompson and Wayne Knudsen. Interment was in Junction Township Cemetery.
Hattie Thompson, daughter of James Taylor Morse and Mary Ellen Allen Morse, was born Oct. 26, 1874, at Perry. Shortly thereafter her parents moved to a farm in the Grand Junction - Rippey community where Hattie grew to womanhood.
On Feb. 28, 1894, she was united in marriage with Noah Thompson. To this union were born 12 children: Wayne, Walter, Mary, Fern, Morse, Alta, Allen, Vivian, Noah E., John, Arch and O.J. Hattie and Noah farmed in the Rippey-Grand Junction area until 1939 when they moved to live in Grand Junction. After Mr Thompson's death in 1949, Hattie continued to make her home in Grand Junction.
She died Monday, Aug. 3, in Jefferson. Mrs Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; three sons, Wayne, Walter and Noah E.; a daughter, Mary Johnson; four brothers, James, Alfred, Arch and Mahlon Morse; one sister, Pearl Custis; one grandson, Charles Noah Thompson; and a great-grandchild, Debra Lee Anderson.
She is survived by her eight children, Fern, Morse, John and O.J., all of Grand Junction, Alta (Mrs John) Guyot of Panama City, FL, Allen Thompson of Marion, Vivian (Mrs Gunnar) Knudsen of DeWitt and Arch Tompson of Perry; 26 grand-children; 50 great-grand-children; 12 great-greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
