NELSE ANDERSON - Nelse Anderson was born in Sweden, November 22, 1844, died at his home, west of Moulton, Iowa, November 17, 1926, being at the time of his death 81 years, eleven months and 25 days old. In the year 1872 he married Miss Anna Louise Magunson, also of Sweden. To this union was born five children, Alfred, of near Exline; Selma, now Mrs. C. A. Lindblom, of Centerville; Emma, now Mrs. Claude Fox; Emery; and Nannie, who died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson also reared from infancy to manhood a nephew, John Anderson, of Des Moines. Soon after marriage the Anderson came to America locating first at Eldon in Wapello county later coming to Appanoose county and locating on the farm where he resided at the time of his death, his good wife having proceeded him in death only last May. Here among strange people speaking a strange tongue and of different customs and manners they built their home, reared their children and established those friendly and neighborly ties so necessary to human happiness. During the forty six years of his life in this community Mr. Anderson established himself in the hearts of all his neighbors. In spite of his handicaps of speech and customs he made friends and held them. His sterling honesty, his high moral ideals and his unfailing kindness made him a man who everyone loved and honored. In early life he became a member of the Lutheran church and remained true to his church to the end. He leaves to mourn his going four children, twelve grand children and a large number of friends. Funeral services were held from the Otterbein church, Saturday afternoon, Nov. 20th, conducted by Lloyd Ellis. Interment was in cemetery near by.
