Josephine Kocher, 71, of Pesotum, died at 3:20 a.m. Friday November 14, 2003, at her home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today with rosary at 8 p.m. and from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph
Catholic Church in Pesotum. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Reverend Joseph Maichithanh officiating. Freese Funeral Home in Tolono is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pesotum.

Mrs. Kocher was born on September 30, 1932, in Ingraham, the daughter of Henry Jacob and Mary
Magdalene (Kuenstler) Volk. She married Henry Kocher on April 12, 1955, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin. He survives.

She worked at Mercy Hospital for 12 years and was. self employed as a home-care worker for 20 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pesotum. She was a wife, mother, teacher, laundry worker and home-care worker. She loved playing cards with her family and friends and was a very loving person.

Mrs. Kocher is survived by her husband, Henry Kocher, of Pesotum; nine sons, Maurice Kocher and his wife, Janet, of St. Jacob, Myron Kocher and his wife, Kathleen, of Tuscola, Marvin Kocher and his wife, Arlene, of Springfield, Melbourn Kocher and his wife, Linda, of Sadorus, Phillip Kocher and his wife, Aimee, of Grass Lake, Mich., Vincent Kocher and his wife, Peggy, of Mahomet, Wilfred Kocher and
his wife, Patty, of Tolono, Gerald Kocher, of Sadorus, and Gerard Kocher and his wife, Angela, of Pesotum; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Raymond Volk, of Pesotum, Herman Volk, of Claremont, and Leo Volk, of Ingraham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, .two brothers and one grandson.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pesotum or Champaign-Urbana Dialysis.
