Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Opole, for Alex Kuklok, 81, who died Friday at VA Medical Center, St. Cloud.
Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, with military rites provided by Holdingford VFW Post 5160.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at Brenny Funeral Home, Holdingford. Holdingford VFW will pray at 7 p.m. Sunday followed by parish prayers at 8 at the funeral home.

Alex Kuklok was born in Holdingford to Frank and Agnes (Philipsek) Kuklok. He married Cecelia Ann Linn on June 26, 1946, in St. Anthony. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served with the 130th Infantry in the South Pacific from 1941 to 1945. He received many commendation medals, including the Silver Star and Purple Heart. He worked as a mason and carpenter building homes in St. Cloud. He later purchased his father's dairy farm in Holdingford, where he farmed until retiring in 1983. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and a life member of Holdingford VFW Post 5160.

Survivors include his wife; children, Carole Oachs, Patrick and Daniel of Holdingford, and Judy Frieler of Sauk Rapids; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother and sisters, Cyril of Holdingford, Teckla Symanietz of Oak Park, Theresa Phillippi of Royalton, and Hilda Karnes of Little Falls.

He was preceded in death by three infant grandchildren; brother and sister, Benedict and Dorothy; and one infant brother.
