Mrs. Cato died suddenly on Thursday, January 27, 1994 at Randolph County Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Roanoke, Mrs. Cato was a native of Heard County, GA, born August 20, 1900, daughter of Harrison Wesley and Laura Virginia Faulkner Walters. She had worked as a weaver with Handley Mills and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Roanoke Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther S. Cato Sr. and a son, Charles Edgar Cato.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Benefield and Mrs. Sue Taft, both of Roanoke; a son, Luther S. Cato Jr. of Roanoke; a brother, Guy Walters of LaGrange, GA
