Mother of David H. Gray.She is the daughter of Richard(b.1765? d.1848)and Nancy "Dodd" Lee(b.1766 d.? alive after 1848)of Orange County Va.(married there in 1789)She is also the granddaughter of John(b.? d.1817)and Martha "Hughes"(alive after 1817) Lee of Orange County Virginia.Also she is the granddaughter of John C. and Martha "Dodd" Hughes of Orange County. She was born in the Rockfish area of now Nelson county.Her father Richard Lee had aquired 110 acres of his first land purchase from Racheal Ayers near Wintergreen/Rockfish of Amerst Co.(now Nelson Co.) on 6/10/1791 and 94 more acres from John Hughes on 5/1/1800 in the same area.She has lived most of her youth in Nelson(under father Richard Lee),then Augusta(with husband William Gray Jr.),and finally Wood county W.Va...Additional note: There is a more than a high probability that her father Richard Lee is buried in "Diamond Hill" cemetery on the edge of the Winter Green resort area.
