Achziger Rites Will Be Friday:
Funeral services for Mrs. John George Achziger, 85, one of Adams county's oldest pioneers who died last Tuesday, will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Philadelphia Congregational church with the Rev. H. Neutzmann officiating. Burial will be in the Ritzville cemetery.
Mrs. Archziger had been ill for 14 weeks, her death resulting from old age. She would have been 86 years old August 5th.
Katherine Elizabeth Achziger was born Aug 5, 1859 in Kolb Russia. She united in marriage to John George Achziger in 1867. In 1885 they came to Ritzville and homesteaded a farm six miles west of here. They left the farm in 1889 to live in Ritzville. Three years later, Mr. Achziger passed away. She was the oldest member of the Philadelphia Congregation church in Ritzville.
She is survived by three daughters; Mrs. Percy Hunt and Mrs. Alice Thiel, Ritzville and Mrs. Kate Schroeder, Seattle; a son, Jacob, Modest California; 27 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, two children who died in early infancy in Russia, two sons and four daughters.
