MAN'S DEATH IN CRASH RULED HEART FAILURE
A 68-year-old Louisville man died of a heart attack shortly before or after his car, northbound on Baxter, crashed into a guardrail at Castlewood about 8:50 a.m. yesterday. His wife's 92-year-old aunt, a passenger, was injured. Frank H. Herbig, of 1704 Bonnycastle, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Anthony Hospital. Chief Deputy Coroner William S. Anderson ruled death was due to a heart attack. Miss Catherine Schene, of the same address, was listed in critical condition in General Hospital with compound fractures of both legs. The two were said to be on the way to a church service. Herbig retired two years ago from the Girdler Corp., where he was a clerk. He was a member of the St. Joseph Orphan Society. He is survived by his widow, the former Marie Soete; three daughters, Mrs. Walter Yurt and Misses Mary C. and Rita M. Herbig, two sons, George L. and Joseph M. Herbig, and two grandchildren. The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Road, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. The body will be at the Barrett Funeral Home, 1230 Bardstown Road, after 6 p.m. today.
