Charles R. Kendall Sr., 83, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday at Baptist Hospital East. He was a native of Corbin, KY and retired from Jefferson County Public Schools, having taught for 30 years. He was a chief engineer with WKPC (Channel 15), a member of Parkland Masonic Lodge #638, the Scottish Rite, Kosair Shrine and Jeffersontown Baptist Church and a Navy (Seabees) veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Anna Alvina Kendall; three sons, Charles Robert Kendall Jr., John Phillip Kendall and Timothy Dowell Kendall; one daughter, Linda Tierney; one sister, Martha Wysocki; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Arch L. Heady & Son, Hikes Point Home, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
