William E. Stone Sr., 63, died Monday [October 26, 1998] at Alliant Medical Pavilion. He was chief executive officer of the Stone Group; former general manager of Hazelet & Erdal Consulting Engineers & Architects, where he worked 41 years; and a member of the Zoeller Co. board of directors, the St. Xavier and University of Louisville alumni associations and St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church. Survivors: his wife, the former Rita Wiedemer; a daughter, Robin M. Finzer; sons, William E. Jr., John C. & Kevin J. Stone; and eight grandchildren. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday, his church, 5505 Bardstown Road. Burial: Calvary. Visitation: Ratterman’s, 3800 Bardstown Road, 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and 1-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Memorial gifts: Home of the Innocents or Mass of the Air.
