Just three weeks after Mrs. Lucinda Katherine Bingham Nye was laid to rest, her husband, Charles Nye was claimed by death. He came to Ashley Valley with the first company of pioneers from Weber County. He has been an invalid for seventeen years and was the last of his father's family to die. He was 75 years old.

Funeral services were held in the Fourth Ward meeting house Thursday, Feb 7.

All of his children except Mrs. Mary Wilson, of Salt Lake City, were in attendance. The speakers were Pres. Don B. Colton, S. D. Colton, James O Nell and Bishop M. M. Batty. Interment was in the Maeser Cemetery.
