Pleasant married Mary Abshire on April 1, 1830 at Cherry Grove MM, Highland County, Ohio.

In 1938 Pleasant owned 80 acres of land in Washington Twp, Randolph County, Indiana. He and Mary lived on this farm land, enduring all the toils, hardships, and deprivations of pioneer life until 1864 when they temporarily moved to Merom, Sullivan County, IN. They did not remain there very long, due to Mary's failing health. They returned to their farm home in Randolph County, where she died.
