Marcus Ridenour, one of allen county's pioneer citizens, died Friday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Houk, at William's station. He was about seventy-eight years of age and had lived in this county for many years. His death was due to paralysis. The first attack, which came several years ago, left him practically helpless. He was born in Virginia and came to Allen county in 1850. He had been an active man all his life and was well known and highly respected all over the county. He was a devout member of the Universalist church and had been one of its prominent members for over half a century.

The surviving relatives include a wife and seven children, Mrs. Margaret E. Welch, of Convoy, O.; C.S. Ridenour, manager of the Mondamia Meadows Dairy company of this city; Mrs. William H. Devilbiss, of Washington township; Mrs. Rebecca Youse, of Madison township; Mrs. Elizabeth Arr of Adams county; Adam L. Ridenour, who lives in the state of Washington, and Mrs. Mark Hauk, of Williams Statton.

The funeral services will be held this afternoon at Monroeville and the interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
