Frank H. Mueller, 89, of Rt. 1, New Holstein, died Thursday morning at home following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be Saturday at St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church, New Holstein, the Rev. Donald Koch officiating. Burial will be in New Holstein City Cemetery.
He was born July 13, 1869, in the Town of Schleswig, Manitowoc County, son of the late Gottfried and Anna Boss Mueller. He married the former Miss Maria Awe in the Town of Charlestown, Calumet County, March 26, 1896. She died in 1908. On Sept. 9, 1911, he married Mrs. Bertha Boeldt at Sheboygan. They operated a farm in the Town of Charlestown and came to their present home on the outskirts of New Holstein in April, 1919. He was employed at the A. T. Hipke Sons, Inc., cannery, the Iversen Feed Mill, and later by the city until he retired in 1949. Since that time he did gardening as a hobby. He was a member of the St. John congregation where he served as an elder for many years.
Survivors include his wife; a step-son, Helmuth Boeldt of Rt 1, Kiel; three step-daughters, Mrs. Alfred Wieting of Brillion, Mrs. Norma Fenn of Sheboygan and Mrs. Herbert Klemm of Milwaukee; half-brother, Hubert Bunge of Kiel; 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He was born in Schleswig. His mother was about 2 months pregnant with him when his father Gottfried died. 2 months after his birth, his mother remarried to Christian F Bunge.
