The deceased was born in Germany, Sept. 15, 1844, and came to America at the age of nine years with his parents, who settled two miles south of New Holstein. In 1869 he purchased a farm near the village, where he has since resided. In 1872 he was united in marriage to Justine Pfeil; the union was blessed with three sons and three daughters, of whom two sons, Wm and Ed have preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife and one son and three daughters, namely; Peter of Milwaukee, Mrs. Fred. Thiessen of Kiel, Mrs. R. C. Oliver of Norway, Mich., and Mrs. A. W. Freund of this village.
The funeral took place Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with interment in the New Holstein cemetery. W. H. Luehr of Manitowoc officiated.
