Mrs. J. B. Hampton, formerly a citizen of this place, died at her home in Kalamazoo Friday morning after a long spell of sickness. The remains were brought here for burial Sunday and the funeral services were held at the 31 E. church. Rev. Oakes, resident pastor, officiating. A large attendance congregated at the church and cemetery. The deceased was one of the early settlers and was the mother of Eugene Butler who resides south of this village. Interment was made at the Gilson cemetery.
