Oscar & Beulah (Howard) Morris. He
grew up on a farm in Hobart, Okla,
where he was the second of six children.
Virgil joined the National Guard after
completing high school, but sustained an
injury to his left leg which did not allow
him to join the Armed Forces..
He then ventured to Saudi Arabia, worked
there for two years and returned to the States,
settling in San Francisco, Calif.
During this time he joined the Operating
Engineers Union working heavy equipmemt
and became a licensed pilot.
Virgil owned and operated a variety of
aircraft while belonging to the Flying
Hi 10 Club. After residing in the
San Francisco area for 35 years, he moved
to Ft. Ripley Minn to farm. Virgil's
favorite pastime was leather crafting
and this led to the development of
Virgil Morris Saddleworks. He married
Charlotte (Trib) Morris on Jan 2, 2001
in Gainesville, Texas.
Virgil is survived by his wife Charlotte
and children, Ron Morris & wife Joyce of
Forest Hills, Calif; and Rob & wife Shelby
of Lexington, Okla; Glenys & Randy Ramsdell
of Ft.Ripley, Minn, and Mary & Paul Kessler
of Sparks, Nev;
sisters, Claudia Hancock of Moore, Okla and
Cuba Allen of Hobart, Okla; 11 grandchildren,
11 gr-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents;
Oscar and Beulah Morris,
brothers A.C. and J. R. Morris; sister Bernice
and a nephew, Jim.
Funeral services May 21, 2003.
Interment at Oakland Cemetery, Little Falls, Minn.
