Dr. James B. Washam, age 84, of Gilbertsville, Ky., died Sunday, May 7, 2006, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky. He was a member of Benton Church of Christ. He was also a member of WWII US Army Air Corp Fighter Pilot; Optometrist in Mayfield for 50 years; Graduate of Benton High School Class of 1940, Murray State University and Southern College of Optometery in Memphis, TN; Member of Mayfield American Legion Post, Mayfield Lions Club, Kentucky Optometrist Society and West KY Optometrist Society. .
He was the son of the late Elta (Washam) Jones.
He is also survived by his wife Barbara (Moore) Washam;
Two Daughters,
Daughter-Debra (Washam) Scott of Gilbertsville, Ky.
Daughter-Deryl (Washam) Martin of San Antonio, Texas
Grandchildren,
George Hanlin, II of Portland, OR, Jessica Sloan of Burton-Latimer, England, Sara, Sally and Kathryn Martin of San Antonio, TX.
