GEORGE FARQUHAR SERVICES HELD

. Memorial services for George P. Farquhar, 94, were held this Monday at the United Presbyterian Church in College Springs with Rev. Steve Breazier officiating. Shirley Van Fosson at the organ and Ruth Anderson and Joe McKinley vocalists, provided the music. John Kenagy, Luther Compton and Edgar Copeland were ushers with Nancy Whigham and Ethelyn Kenagy at the guest register. Burial was in the College Springs cemetery. Mr Farquhar died at his home in Loveland, Co. March 12. Services will be held in the Galilee Baptist Church in Loveland on March 20. Memorial gifts will be given to missions.
. Mr. Farquhar was born west of College Springs June 24, 1886, the son of John and Elizabeth Farquhar. He was married Feb. 2, 1911 to Jennie Wylie at Lieb, Tx. They farmed west of College Springs until 1953 when they moved to Garner, Ia. where Mrs. Farquhar died in 1968. From 1970-74 he served on a mission field in Zaire, Africa, with his son Dick and his wife. Since then he has made his home with his son and family at Loveland.
. Survivors include four children: John Richard of Loveland, Co; Marian Irene, Sudan, Africa; Mrs. J. [Virginia] Burch of Vinton and Mrs. Ivan [Esther] Runyan of College Springs; 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, a sister Anna Allen of Coin, and brothers Lisle and Perry of College Springs.
. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife Jennie and daughters Fern Lenore in infancy and Margaret Elizabeth Cooper in 1976, sister Nellie Patterson and brother Paul.
