Lela Mae Adams, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior after a brief illness Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009.
Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Lela Mae Adams was born May 12, 1929, in Plaquemine, La., to Theodore Paul and Willie Holshouser. Lela grew up in Haltom City, attended and graduated from Birdville High School. She was a longtime member of North Richland Hills Baptist Church, Eastern Star and Ladies Shrine.
Lela was preceded in death by her first husband, James Fulkerson; second husband, Hadley Adams; and sister, Charles Margaret DeHart.
Survivors: Son, Jim Fulkerson and wife, Wanda; daughter, Beverly Maley; grandchildren, Jimmy Fulkerson and wife, Holly, DeeDee Tapp and husband, Brian, Kevin Maley and wife, Glenda, and Jason Fulkerson; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Lou Brooks and Teddy Barber; six nieces; one nephew.
