Dortha M. Perkins, 81, Willard, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, in Springfield. She was born in Christian County on October 28, 1927.
Dortha was an LPN for 30 years. She was a member of Harvest Ministries. On March 20, 1947, in Springfield, she was united in marriage to Gustine Perkins.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, William and Lillie Hale; and brothers, Clifford Hale, Oliver Hale adn Joe Hale.
She is survived by her husband Gustine Perkins; her children, Gary and wife, Elinor Perkins, and Vicky and husband, Douglas Stephens; four grandchildren, Tina Daniels, Laura Canmona, Alisa Van Dyke and Gary Perkins Jr.; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Roger Hale; four sisters, Eva Vaughan, Christine Newsom, Imagene and husband, James Eddings, and Mary and husband, Kenneth Wilson; several nieces and nephews; and several close friends and family.
Funeral services will be held in Greenlawn Funeral Home North at 10 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2009. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, in the funeral home.
