She was born on March 31, 1909 in Fremont, Missouri to Matthew Montgomery and Bertie May (Shoemaker) Bramlett. She married Golden Waylen Harper on May 9, 1925 in Brockett, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1935. She later married Arthur Bishop in January 1941 in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1972.
She is survived by; four daughters, Mildred (and Bill) Davis of St. Augustine, Charlene (and John) Yeager of Galesburg, Ruby Waterman of Lewistown, Montana and Marjorie Sailer of Galesburg; one son, Don (and Myra Jane) Harper of Abingdon 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 35 great-great grandchildren and 6 great-great-great grandchildren; a brother, Cecil (and Verna) Bramlett of East Galesburg; a sister-in-law, Nancy Bramlett of Galesburg and numerous nieces and nephews..
She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 grandson, 1 great grandson, 5 brothers and 7 sisters.
Lora was a homemaker and had lived in the Hermon and Abingdon areas most of her life. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Abingdon.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in the Hermon Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Tuesday at the chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Knox County Nursing Home.
