Emma Jane Wiest married Aaron Schwenk Mattis 21 June 1866 in Pennsylvania, United States. They made their home in Lower Mahanoy Township and Millersburg, Dauphin, Pennsylvania, United States. They had two daughters, Mary Catherine Mattis, who married William Egle Vallenchamp; and Clara Estelle Mattis (remained single up to the 1920 United States Federal Census). Both daughters were school teachers. Emma's husband died in 1908 and Emma moved with her daughter Clara to Norristown, Montgomery, Pennsylvania where Clara taught school (1910 United States Federal Census). Emma died 29 January 1917 and was buried next to her husband in Stone Valley Cemetery, Hickory Corners, Northumberland, Pennsylvania, United States.
