Alfred H. 'Radio' Ferrell

Alfred H. 'Radio' Ferrell, 84, 312 Gaines St., Kingsport, died Friday (July 29, 1994) at the VA Center in Mountain Home, Tenn., after a brief illness.

Born in Hawkins County, he lived in Kingsport most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Ferrell was owner and operator of Ferrell's Wholesale Candy Company serving East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruby Barron Ferrell, Kingsport; one son, Ron Ferrell, Mount Carmel; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Frazier officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at Oak Hill Cemetery.
