Roy, of Beaumont, passed away Friday in Beaumont.

Following his graduation from Jasper High School, he attended Baylor University. He moved to Beaumont in 1949 and founded Brittain Supply Company in August 1963 from which he retired in 2001.

Roy was an avid golfer and served as past president of Beaumont Country Club. He was a 32nd degree and sixty year mason, an endowed member of Beaumont Masonic Lodge #286, member of Teutonia Masonic Lodge #47, Eastern Star Chapter #823, El Mina Shriners, South Park Rotary Club, and the Lamar Cardinal Club. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II.

He was survived by his sons, Lee Brittain and his wife Becky and Patrick Brittain and his wife Sharron; grandchildren, Chris Brittain and his wife Lisa, Ryan Brittain and his wife Valerie, Justin Brittain, and Emily Brittain; great grandchildren, Camryn Brittain and Colby Brittain; and step-children, Susan Pierce and Clinton Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roy Lee Brittain Sr and Daisie Weisler Brittain and his wife, Deanna.

Funeral service Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont with Reverend Robert Besser officiating. Entombment at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont.
