Richard Knight, a life long and highly respected resident of the town of Lowville, died last Thursday evening after an illness of only a few hour, death being due to complication of liver and stomach troubles. He was born in this town in 1827, and his entire life was devoted to farming. His father Israel Knight, settled in Lowville in 1810. The deceased was for many years a member of the West Martinsburg Methodist church, was an upright, honorable citizen, and enjoyed the respect of all. He was twice married, his first wife was Mary Brown, and his second, who survives, Amanda Crosby, of Martinsburg. He was a brother of Mrs. Elijah Strader, of this town. The funeral services were held from the late residence of the deceased Saturday afternoon.
