Larry Dale Mann

A life celebration service for Larry Dale Mann, 67, of Roscoe, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Roscoe with Rev. James Baker and Charlie Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009, at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.

Larry passed away in his special place with Bible in hand, Tuesday, July 28, 2009. We know the Lord was with him.

He was born Sept. 3, 1941, in Lamar County, Texas. He married Maxene Parks July 15, 1961, in Roscoe.

He retired from National Railcar as Chief Inspector where he had also been a supervisor. He lived in Nolan County most of his life and was a longtime Roscoe Volunteer Fireman. He had served on the Roscoe City Council and was a member of First Baptist Church in Roscoe. For the past 20 years, Mann owned and operated Larry's Tire Center and Roscoe Blacksmith Shop.

Survivors include his wife, Maxene Mann of Roscoe; three daughters, Kathryn Wilson and husband Paul of Maryneal, Paula Fisher and husband Charles of Cisco and Anita Dawn Lee and husband Brent of Cisco; four grandsons, Jeremy Fisher, Sean Wilson, J.D. Lee and Ty Fisher; two granddaughters, Candace Fisher and Evalena Lee; one step-granddaughter, Missy Wilson; three sisters, Nelda Bush of Sweetwater, Linda Workman of North Charleston, N.C. and Letha Kohlman of Rice, TX; two brothers, Duane Mann of Sweetwater and Danny Mann of Sweeny, TX; two uncles, Gerald Williams of Tennessee and Author Williams of Commerce, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charlie and Darlene Parks of Maryneal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Coalman and Beulah Mann; step-father, Sam Gillean, step-grandson, Jeff Wilson; and numerous uncles and aunts.

Pallbearers will be Sean Wilson, Jeremy Fisher, Jerry Huley, Bill Ivey, Roger Ivey and Jerry Alford.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Treadaway and Eddie Kirby.
