The May 23, 1991 copy of "The Hitching Post" in the Ottawa Herald gives a short history of the Martin School, Dist. 89. It was built on land donated by "Fleet" Martin in 1880, and not closed until 1954.
The dates / locations of birth and death are from his son Rev. Wm. Frank Martin (FAG #6357619), and the family history written by Frank's daughter Jeannine Martin Takacs. As noted, the burial was in Kansas.
