He was a son of Moses Allison and Lucia Davis.

He married his first wife, Mary L. Packard (1871-1949), on 26 Feb 1887 in Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. There appear to have been four children born to them, one having died as a small child. They were:

1. Gerald Howard Allison (1887-1978)

2. Charles David Ellison (4 May 1889- )

3. Herbert A. Allison (1892-1895)

4. Alice M. Allison (1896-1982)

It is unclear whether he deserted his first wife or divorced her. This confusion is due to the 1900 and 1910 Census records showing Mary as "Married". By 1910 Fred was already living in Millersburg or Upper Paxton Township with his second wife and having more children.

His first wife, Mary Packard, is listed in the 1920 Census as "Widowed" after Fred died in 1918. It appears she never remarried, nor did any of her children apparently marry.

Fred's second wife was Sarah Jeanette "Sadie" Stoddard (1877-1945). This was her second marriage as well. The children they had were as follows:

1. Harry David Allison (1909-1989)

2. Roy Melvin Allison (1910-1982)

3. Lester Ray Allison (1913-1983)

4. Evelyn May Allison (1916-1916)

5. Richard Allison Witmer* (1917-2000)

* Richard was adopted and raised by Jerome Deppen Witmer (1866-1938) and his wife Katherine Viola Troutman (1872-1934).

Gravesite Details

The tombstone appears to be missing. I found a base with the headstone missing near the daughter's tombstone, but cannot currently prove it's his. The cemetery caretaker says the stone is gone as well.
