STUTSMAN - Near Girard, Il, in the bounds of the Pleasant Hill church, Macoupin Co. Il, Aug 9, 1896, Hannah (Studebaker) Stutsman, aged 78 yrs, 3 mo 20 days. Deceased was born in Montgomery Co, Oh, Apr 19, 1818. She was a daughter of Eld. Jacob Studebaker, one of the pioneer settlers of Northern Indiana. She was the third of a family of eight children and survived all of them. She was united in marriage to Jacob U Stutsman Dec 3, 1840, became the mother of thirteen children, four of whom preceded her to the spirit world. The husband and father also passed away over twenty-five years ago. In early life she cast her lot with the Brethren as the church of her choice, and lived a devoted Christian life to the time of her release. Funeral conducted by the writer, assisted by the Brethren, from Heb. 9:27.
