Ruth Vincent Stephens was born on October 1, 1904 in Pennsylvania. Her father was Bailey Stephens b1872 and her mother Laura Ethyl nee Lynch was ten years younger. She appears to be an older daughter with 12 brothers & sisters in that family. She had one son Donald A Stephens born on April 2, 1927, his father is uncertain. She passed away in October 1974 in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, at the age of 70, and was buried in Strongstown, Pennsylvania next to her husband Herbert who had died some 25 years earlier. Ruth's husband Herbert was previously married into the '0ther' Stephens Family in Cambria Co., his 1st wife was Annie Stephens b1889 - d1933. Interestingly Annie had a sister Carrie Stephens Dearmy whose daughter Bessie married into the Stephens Family that Ruth is descended from. So all the subsequent Stephens from both 'Stephens' families were 'Cousins' by marriage. Ruth Stephens 0rner was a 2nd Cousin to Bessie Dearmy Stephens children- see mem# 97980715. Bessie's husband William Stephens b1898 was 1st Cousin to Ruths father Bailey b1872. This line goes back through the two brothers to William Stephens b1815. The '0ther Stephens' line goes back to Adam 'Stephan' Stephens b1813 - this writers G/grandfather. I thought it interesting how closely related the two Stephens Families are in Cambria & Indiana Co's in Pennsylvania. Ruth had a son Donald b1927 so he would be a 2nd Cousin to Bessie's children as well.
