Miss Lora Comella Golden, age 102, a resident of Baton Rouge since July 1928, and a native of Goldonna, died at home on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008. A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park on Monday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m., conducted by Ferris Jordan. She is survived by her nephews, John E. Prevost, Baton Rouge, Jim B. Golden, Jonesboro, and John W. Golden Jr., Pineville; nieces, Lora Faye Peacock, Birmingham, Ala., Mary Ann D'Avy, Alexandria, and Ada Marie Kirkpatrick, Baton Rouge. She also had numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ola and Ada Golden; brother, J.W. Golden; and sisters, Cletta (age 3), Eloise Prevost and Gertrude McKnight. Pallbearers will be Jim Golden, John Golden, Kyle Kirkpatrick, Gary Golden, Russ Golden and Kris Kirkpatrick. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Henry B. Harvey, Dr. Harold Voss and Dr. A.K. McInnis. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the First Baptist Church for Lottie Moon Offering, P.O. Box 1309, Baton Rouge, LA 70821-1309. The family would like to extend special thanks to Penny Perkins, RN, and Brenda of Hospice of Baton Rouge. Their professionalism and compassion made a tough time a lot easier. Rabenhorst Funeral Home East is in charge of arrangements.
