J. Fairchild Dies From Long Illness
Funeral Services for William Fielding Fairchild, 75, 1401 1st Ave NW, will be Monday morning at 11 at Croxford's Mortuary with Bishop James Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Fairchild died late Friday at a local hospital. He had been in failing health about 5 years.
A resident of the area 52 years, Fairchild was born Oct. 1, 1887, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He came west in 1910, homesteading north of Carter. In 1928 he moved to Floweree where he farmed for 10 years before locating at Ashuelot. He farmed there 20 years then retired in 1958 and came to Great Falls.
Surviving relatives are two sons, three brothers, two sisters, and five grandsons.

He was married three times:
