Funeral services were held from the George Durkee home here Monday afternoon at two o'clock for John F. BAILEY, 83, who died on March 11, at the Odd Fellows Home at Green Bay where he had resided for the past nine years.
Services were in charge of the I.O.O.F. Lodge Number 144 of Ripon, and interment was made in the Dartford cemetery.
John Francis Bailey was born on a farm on Green Lake Prairie (town of Green Lake) March 22, 1866, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bailey. He attended rural school in that area and as a young man was employed at Ripon as a glove cutter. He later entered business here in Green Lake where he spent the major portion of his life until going to the Odd Fellows Home nine years ago.
In addition to the Odd Fellows, he was a member of the Green Lake Masonic Lodge No. 147 and the Green Lake Order of the Eastern Star No. 186.
The deceased was married twice - to Lena Leistikow of Ripon who died March 30, 1923; and to Mrs. Miriam Billings of Milwaukee who died September 14, 1836. He is survived by two sisters - Mrs. G. A. Durkee of Green Lake and Miss Grace Bailey of Ripon.
Among those from out of town who attended the services here Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Ned Walker of Beaver Dam, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Bazely of Center House, Miss Grace Crabtree and Mrs. Harriet Stevenson of Oshkosh.
