EMPORIA --- Velma Loraine Baldridge, 72, Emporia, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at an Emporia nursing home.
Mrs. Baldridge was a licensed practical nurse at Newman Hospital for 22 years before she retired 10 years ago. She also taught school for many years ago and was a nurse's aide for many years before she became an LPN.
She was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Olpe, the daughter of Pete and Fannie P. Dunkin Wiedmer.
Mrs. Baldridge was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Emporia.
She married Walter Gerald Daniel on Feb. 6, 1949, in Rexford. They were divorced. She married Arthur Ronald Trace on May 13, 1964, in Emporia. He died Sept. 25, 1972. She married Robert Eugene Baldridge on Sept. 26, 1980, in Emporia. He died Aug. 19, 1988. Mrs. Baldridge also was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Survivors include two sons, Jerrold D. Daniel, Kansas City, Mo., and Arthur J. Trace, Aurora, Mo.; two daughters, Rhonda L. Baldridge, Emporia, and Sharon K. Long, Topeka; a brother, Ira J. Wiedmer, in Colorado; three sisters, Wylma Steinman, Arvada, Colo., Martha Witt, Brush, Colo., and Doris Pauline Hoffman, Spring Arbor, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Emporia.
