Narcess Clement Crappell, 89, a native of Berwick and resident of Morgan City, died Wednesday in Morgan City. Visitation will be today, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and resume Friday at 8 a.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.

She is survived by five sons, Junius Crappell, Larry Crappell and Wade Crappell Srof Albuquerque., all of Morgan City, Herbert Crappell of Patterson and Lawrence Crappell , N.M.; two daughters, Iris Crappell Fry of Patterson and Ruby Crappell Van Cleave of Mississippi; three sisters, Dolly Thompson Klein of Berwick, Rena Deslotte of Morgan City and Kay Suttoon of Bayou Vista; one brother, Gerald Fabre of Bayou L'Ourse; 25 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Crappell; one son, Roland Crappell; her father, Clement Fabre; her mother, Tillie Fabre; one granddaughter, Kim Crappell Black; four brothers, Morris Fabre, Lawrence Fabre, Nolon Fabre and Alden Fabre; and five sisters, Della Meranto, Mildred Fabre Price, Ethel Fabre Whetstone, Anna Fabre Scott and Romana Fabre. Pallbearers will be her five sons and her grandson, Alex Crappell. Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.
