He worked for Glass Container Corp., Gas City, as a guard until his retirement in 1972. He attended Westview Wesleyan Church, Jonesboro. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Survivors include a daughter, Victoria L. Davis, Jacksonville, NC; two sisters, Kathleen Harris, Appalachia, VA, and Mrs Eugene (Wilma Jean) Turner, Jonesboro; a brother, James, Gas City; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. today (April 9, 1994) in Needham-Storey Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, Gas City, with the Rev. Charles McCallum officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Gas City.
