John J. Anderson died Feb. 21 at his home four and a half miles south of Wyandotte at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Anderson, three children, Mrs. Elsie Liddell of Fort Smith, Ark.; Arthur of the home and Mrs. Austie Henson of Pawhuska, Okla. Four grandsons, James and Harold Testerman of Fort Smith, Ark., Cecil and Clifford Long of Wyandotte; one great granddaughter, Rose Anna Long.
Mr. and Mrs. Anderson and two daughters, Elsie and Bertha, leaving their farm four miles south of Joplin., Mo., in 1893, moved to a farm four and one-half miles south of Wyandotte. This farm was a small Indian stamp ground located near the south bank of Sycamore, but was enlarged year by year by clearing away the dense forest. Later years three more children were born, two sons and one daughter, Arthur, Leroy and Austie.
