Born in Wade, OK, on February 17, 1928. Jeff and his family moved to Muskogee in 1966 to open the TG&Y Store in Honor Heights Plaza and retired after 32 years. After retirement Jeff and wife, Betty, opened and operated Marvin's Mower and More for 18 years. He joined the Army in 1946 one month before his 18th birthday and was a veteran of the Korean War.Jeff is survived by his wife Betty of Muskogee, a daughter Regina Thomas of Tahlequah, son Blaine "Buzz" Buford of Tulsa and was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Walkingstick of Tahlequah and son Steve Buford of Muskogee. In addition to his wife and children, Jeff leaves behind three sisters, Dorothy Jones and husband, Leroy of Bakersfield, CA, Gladys Hill and husband, Brub of Riverdale, CA, Janell Morris of Armona, CA, seven grandchildren, David Capps of Muskogee, OK, Jason Capps and wife Darla of Muskogee, OK, Mary Jackson and husband, T. J. of Dallas, TX, Chase Buford of Tulsa, OK, Payton McClintock and husband, Adam of Broken Arrow, OK, Jeff Thomas and wife, Barbara of California and Michael Thomas and wife, Brandy of Warner, OK, great grandchildren, Dana Taylor, Dara Capps, Dalton Capps, Alanna Capps all of Tahlequah, OK, Elise Jackson of Dallas, TX, and step great grandchildren, Shane, Dustin, Darrel, Charles and Austin. A funeral service will be held for Jeff on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 11 o'clock in the morning at Keefeton Trinity Baptist Church in Keefeton, OK, with Reverend James Taylor and Reverend Delbert Hawpe officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.
