Eldest son of Richard and Permelia Trout was born on a farm near De Soto, KS Oct 21, 1896 where he lived with his parents until their death, the mother having passed away Jan 1, 1909, and the father May 5, 1916. They younger children were then put in different homes. He enlisted in Uncle Sams's service Jan 1, 1918. He sailed overseas June 1, 1918 and died with appendicitis July 27, 1918 somewhere in France, age 21 years, 9 mons, 6 days. He leaves 3 borthers and 2 sisters, Clinton and Phobe of Atchison, KS., Peralt and Clyed of De Soto and Henry Trout A.E.F 3 half sisters adn one half brother.
