Marie Kathrine Hansen was born at Hojrup, Clamsbjerg station, Denmark, May 4, 1886, and passed away at her home southt (sic) of Ruskin July 27, 1937, at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 23 days. She came to the United States in 1886. In 1889 she came to Ruskin, where she was married to Ever Petersen. To this union were born ten children, two sons, Albert and Jerry have preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband and the following children, Mrs. Matthilde Larsen, Nora, Carl Petersen, Eugene, Oregon, Rev. Viggo Petersen, Osakis, Minn., Mrs. Martha Christiansen, Hardy, Nebr., Anker Petersen, Hardy, Einer Petersen, Everett, Wash., Mrs. Nina Litlethorup, Omaha, and Mrs. Naomi Olsen, Harady (sic); also three sisters, Mrs. A.S. Andersen, Mrs. John P. Christensen, and Mrs. Robert Larsen all of Hardy; two brothers, H.P. Hansen and Nels Hansen of Hardy; and several grand children, besides other relatives, and a host of friends.

Mrs. Petersen will be kindly remembered by her many years of untiring service at home and among friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Bethany Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. P.J. Vammen, with interment in the Ruskin cemetery.
