Pefley, Balzora Josephine, daughter of Hezekiah Hodges & Clementina Elsie Scott, born in Franklin Co, VA, died at her home in Girard, IL, 6 Feb 1926, aged 70 yrs 1 mo 10 days.
Her mother died when she was 18 months old & her father 14 Jul 1908. At age 26 she came to IL. She married Geo. W. Pefley 25 Dec 1884. She was a resident of Girard about 34 yrs. While in her teens she united with the Church of the Brethren and continued in that faith until the end.
During her illness she called for the anointing. She loved her home but also was interested in the welfare of others.
Surviving are her husband, an adopted daughter, two grandchildren and one brother. Funeral in the Church of the Brethren. Interment in Pleasant Hill cemetery. - Mrs. S.A. Weddle, Girard, IL
NOTE: Her mother was Clementina Elsie Scott 1831-1857. Her grandparents were: Sterling Scott 1802-1867 & Bethenia Durham 1795-1865
